Default Tensioner problem

I have been getting a lot of scratching at higher rpms while driving and I thiunk the problem might be due to my two tensioners around my belt. They appear to be slightly rusting/wearing. What's ya'll opinion sight unseen (if any)? Also, is this a DIY and could I safely use two tensioners from a fairly new vette or should they be brand new/sealed? Thanks in advance. :lurk:

the ONE tensioner you have on the car cost about $50 from the dealership and can be replaced very easily with hand tools. If you think it is going bad, simply go out and get another one and install it yourself. :smash:

VR

correct me if i'm wrong, but I think there are actually two: one for the drive belt (GM part no. 12559325) and the other for the a/c belt (GM part no. 12560345). I mislead ya in saying belt in the earlier post.

Tensioners are easy to replace. Power steering pulley is also a culprit. There are noted problems with crank pulley. I replaced all of mine at 50K. All problems are gone.
