I believe this has been broght up before but the short answer is no since you would have to swap much more than just the control unit. Might try a search.
It would be very difficult, if at all possible, to swap those units for several reason's. Personally, I've had both and prefer the simple base unit.
Here's a few related threads I found on my first attempt using the Forum's search feature (links at the bottom). Not extremely user friendly but can be effective...just try using different key words or combinations.
Learning how to use it will yield you more info on topics that have come up before because the more often the same thing is asked the lower the response rate gets. The problem for new folks is often you don't know what's been asked many times before. :banghead:
FWIW...topics that get asked alot are...anything related to painting calipers, anything related to "What exhaust should I get? or Which exhaust sounds best?...anything related to column lock or column lock bypass...anything related to Optima batteries and on and on. After you've been here a short period you'll get my drift. But the bottom line is if you need to ask and you're not sure then by all means Speak Up!!! Someone will help you.
The auto climate control system sucks anyways.
I wish I had the simple rotary controls. You'll find most who have the auto system agree....you aren't missing anything.
