Someone posted here before that the fuel filter location on C5's were under neath the car in the front on the drivers side directly under the rest pedal for your left foot.
I changed mine today on my 98 and it wasn't in that location. It was in the back of the car on the driver's side just above the muffler pipe and exhaust pipe connections. :smash:

How hard is it to replace the gas filter? It was a pretty tough job on my C4. :nonod: I have no trouble getting the car in the air. If the filter is easy to get at I might want to change it out as the car has hit 12K. :chevy
Oh, is it a Delco part, something the Chevy dealer is likely to have in stock? :)

Re: Fuel Filter Location (Shortimer)
Not too bad really. If you don't already have them, then pick up a set of the quick connect tools for disconnecting the fuel lines. You can get a set very reasonably priced. The plastic ones work just fine. Oh yeah. Don't forget to relieve the fuel pressure at the fitting under the driver's side coil cover first. After that it's pretty straight forward. With only 12K on your car, I wouldn't think you would be a fuel filter candidate quite yet. These things have a fairly large capacity. I'm still running my factory filter and I'm at 82K. Of course I also put 3 1/2 oz of Red Line SI-1 in each and every tankfull (and a full bottle at oil filter change time). HTH
Thanks for the info. You're probably right about the low mileage. At the first sign of rough idle or anything similar I'll be taking a close look at the filter. I will toss in some Chevron injector cleaner next long trip I make. :chevy
