LS1 Tune and Predator - Which if Either?
Hello everyone. I have a 2000 hardtop, manual transmission with a stock motor except for a vortex rammer cold air induction kit and Borla XR1 racing exhaust. My question is would a Predator give me any benifit. What about a tuner that used LS1 tune? With the limited mods that I have I wondered if either would be worth the money.

Also lowers your fans, eliminate 1-4 skip, and optimize your throttle response (almost like adding slightly lower gears), and raises your rev limiter if you need it. If you have an automatic it also optimises your shifts and idle if you have a pulley.
It is worth it, even on a stock car. None of these cars comes very well setup from the factory.
The financial catch is if you get LS1 tuned and make any other changes, you probably need to get retuned-which can cost. Also, make sure the guy doesn't lean your car out on the dyno to squeeze that extra few horse-get it tuned conservatively.

LS1 edit. Most tuners that I have been too charge the $500 for the initial tune and then it is cheaper from there. My dad and two friends of mine all got predators and had them dynoed before and after instal. The most that was gained was 8 hp and the other two lost power. I gained 25 hp and 30 lb/ft from LS1 edit. Kaley

without a doubt go with LS1, there is a tuner in my area that charges around $400, and they will keep doing it for a while till its where you want it to be
