Gear ratio for 99 M6
It it worth it to upgrade to 3.73? Seems like you can get a brand new rear diff for 2k with factory 3.73s. It it worth it over the 3.42s?
I worked out the ratios vs a m12 3.42 combo and first is pretty close, and the OD ratios don't get cut down too much.

The answer to your question IMHO depends on what other mods are done to your car.
If you are pretty much stock I would suggest you go for the rebuild of the rear with the bigger 4:10 gears to make the most difference in your quickness.
On the other hand if you are highly modified you may need to stay with the 3:42s.
I am somewhere in the middle of all that and opted for a new 3:73 setup.
