what is it??? I looked throuh the dtc code list and couldnt find it. '03 zo6, active handling, ect. Only happens when I start the car, and even then its intermitten(sp?) Started it yesterday afternoon, car was cold but in garage. any thoughts or ideas would help :smash:
fault 1218 is for the brake pressure modulating valve motor.this motor either pulls brake fluid from the front calipers when full front brake pressure is not needed to the master or from the master to the front calipers when more front brake is needed.fault sets when monitored pump voltages are more and less than commanded voltages.i would tend to think you have a bad or loose ground.there are 2 grounds for the ebcm.one is on the left front frame rail near the abs/bpmv assembly.the other is under the battery tray.if these are loose/poorly grounded, when the motor is powered up the ebcm will not see the right voltage drop.also check the connectors at the pump assembly.
cool! I think I found what your talking about. its a stud, about 6 inches aft of the drivers side hood mount, that holds down a little black box with wires and a single black wire. the nut was snug but i could remove it with my fingers. i tightened it down, started the engine a few times and so far no codes. thanks much!
that's it.the little black box is a splice pack[wire junction],the black wire is 1 of the grounds for the abs pump[this should be the ground for the bpmv].
