Default LAPD's Edit -1 Tune up

I had LAPD tune my99Vette.I was rather apprehensive to have my stock car tuned as I reallydidn't feel a stock car could benefit from this mod.I was wrong.Wow,my car feels like a new car, which it isn't.But Irealize I should have done this a long time ago.The car runs much smoother, idles better than it ever did before. One thing I don't understand, but is a great plus,it runs quieter.I don't know if this is a fluke or its normal.Pick up increased and the shifting is positive.I would reccomendLAPD's tune up to anyone with a modded car or stock. This is the way GM shouldsell their cars. There is an increase of the horsepower, but I can't give you a positve amount, but there is an increase.Don't hesitate to have your car tuned if you are apprehensive like me.Its a must do mod. Thankyou,Shawn :chevy :chevy :flag :chevy :chevy

Well, guys, its been a week since I had my car tuned up and it really is more fun to drive a car that runs the way it should.I am using a wee bit more of the petrol, but I suspect its due to my new afflicition known as heavy foot disease. It is a well known disease among Corvette owners. It is a great disease as I am having a ball with my old new car. Ha Ha Ho HO,its off to the freeway I go!

Guys,

The type of tuning that was done on Rod Brown's C5 costs: $450.00 for total and complete engine/trans tuning.

You don't have to have a modified engine to take advantage of our tuning services.

It is cheap horsepower with the amount of power you get with our tuning on a stock car.

Thanks!

He has an auto so a lot of the increased power "feel" may be from firming up the shifting?

jmzvet,

Actually, Rod Brown had a lot of problems with his Torque Management taking over his Trans-Go Shift kit that he had installed sometime ago. The car started shifting differently and that is the main reason he brought it into us. The engine tuning was just done at the same time the tranny was fixed.

Our tuning services are complete. We don't just target one area or an area that is experiencing a problem. We do it complete the first time around and we do it right! GUARANTEED! You will feel the difference with our custom tuning because it is individually done to your car with special attention paid to your car and it's needs.

wallstAL,

Give us about 2 months from now and all tunes will come with before and after in house dyno numbers providing the car doesn't have major problems when it is brought in.

AtHomeSoda,

It is tough to say what the gains will be on a relatively stock C5, but we will know soon enough as we will dyno the cars before and after to get a real accurate idea of what the gains are.

Tuning prices are very reasonable for what you get in exchange.

Shawn,

How long does it take? I may be interested, as I already have a "baseline" dyno run from the recent dyno day at R & D (319 RWHP/339 RWTQ), and I could get another dyno pull from them after tuning ( they're located close by my home).

joemoia,

If you car is stock, it should take about one full day to tune your vehicle.

AtHomeSoda,

I guess once joemoia gets the car dynoed after we tune it, you will see the power gains.

Let's hope it is more than 20 rwhp gain!!!!

Shawn, we got no real good tuners that I know of here in Hawaii. What would be your recommendation on getting a good tune? LS1edit, Diablo....? How about if we fly you down to tune a bunch of cars?

EFI-1,

We use LS-1 edit as that is the best method to get the car fully dialed in.

Our tuner is willing to fly down to any part of the country to tune, providing you have enough cars to tune. If you have around 10 cars that need tuning, he will do it!

Email us at: Sales@TheLAPD.com and we can set it up.

Thanks!

Guys,

Here is an FAQ to help deal with some of the questions we’ve been fielding. We will update this as frequently as reasonable. In the meantime, should you have any questions not covered here, please don't hesitate to call us.

Q: How much power can I get from LS1 edit tuning?

A: Like any good, competent and conscientious tuner, L.A.P.D. will extract the maximum available from your set-up. Keyword here is your set-up. We cannot make a box stock, no mod LS1 pull 380 RWHP but, if your LS1 is a strong factory car, we will get the maximum it is capable of. Essentially, the more mods, the more we can harvest.

Q: Why would I want to spend money on a custom tune if all I have is bolt-ons or just an air box and exhaust.

A: Because you are optimizing your car to fit your driving and environment. Remember, every LS1 from the factory varies within the scope of production variability’s and tolerances some run rich, some lean, some ping, etc. We take the time to reduce or eliminate these errors and you are rewarded with more power and better drivability.

Q: Can you remove torque reduction and raise the rev limiter.

A: Of course, but rather than arbitrarily removing or changing these aspects, we’d rather tailor these changes to properly suit the combination on your car, thereby maintaining the highest degree of reliability possible for your drivetrain.

Q: Can I have a before and after dyno reading.

A: Yes, however at this time our dyno is not on site so we reserve the right to use several dyno shops in the area and there is an additional fee for this service until we get our own in house dyno. And, anyone using our tuning services prior to us getting our own dyno installed, will receive a voucher good for a 30% reduction in dyno time!!!

Q: Do you install the parts you sell as well as tune.

A: YES!!! We always have. Just give us a call for some of the lowest prices around and we will certainly try to give you the best customer service on the planet.

Thank you.

Shawn

TIKTGTR,

Get at least 10 guys together for tuning and our tuner is willing to come out on a weekend to tune all the cars. We won't have to open up a shop near you, but we will come out to do the tuning work.

Tuning a stock car costs less than a H/C or forced induction application.

We are now able to tune all 97-2004 C5/Z06 vehicles. We just got the 2004 C5/Z06 LS1 Edit software update.

Let us know.

Thanks!

Shawn
