Default Forum Shoot Out Rules for Big Cube P/A

This post has been set up to assist in the rule selection for the stroker Power Adder Class

My suggestions are as follows please comment so we can move forward. I would also like to see who is competing in this class so let’s hear it!!

Pro Tree
3400 lb min weight
Stock Chassis and Suspension
Any Power Adders No limits on stages, controllers etc...
No Tran’s brakes after market tranny allowed as long as it remains in the stock configuration
Stock PCM. No after market engine management system.
Full Exhaust
No C5R Heads
No Sheet Metal Intakes.

Good start Paul.. I believe you should be able to run an aftermarket engine management system, be able to use a custom intake. When you stay stock suspension, do you mean stock shocks or can we use aftermarket drag shocks?

I agree with the 3400 lbs minimum.

I am up in the air with the heads because I will be running the AFR heads by then.

Good start though..

Pro Tree
Pro tree would tend to confuse some.. There will be those at the shoot out that do not have the experience with the pro tree set-up.. and since the tracks tend to be closing now.. Practice would be alittle difficult..

3400 lb min weight
I take this is meant for the F-bodies that come with gutted rides.. Fair but not fair.. They chose to drive there cars without a back seat or carpet.. so if the pimp like that.. then they should be allowed to complete.. I personally dont like it.. but if thats the way they ride..

You never know.. a Z06 with a 100 lb guy could be under 3400lb

Stock Chassis and Suspension
Agreed.

Any Power Adders No limits on stages, controllers etc...
Agreed

No TranÂ’s brakes after market tranny allowed as long as it remains in the stock configuration
I'm not happy about the aftermarket tranny thing.... I personally have a 4l60E... but again, if you drive it with the 3 speed.. then your the one who's paying the gas bill..

Stock PCM. No after market engine management system.
Dont agree... if its for-sale, then it should be allowed.. Again. if you drive with it.. it should be allowed.. If you allow after-market transmissions, then why not PCM's..

Full Exhaust
Agreed

No C5R Heads
WHY not.... Again if its offered, then it should be allowed.. Some tuners may offer a C5R package.. and should be allowed to run it... Just like a LS6 package.. Compared to a LS1 packages.. I only have LS1 heads.. should I complain that someone has better heads.. no.. chose what I chose..

No Sheet Metal Intakes.
Again if its for sale.. then it should be allowed.. I'm sure there are things that are custom on each and ever car..

guy's
Keep it coming remember we are setting up a class.

There is alot of things that are availible but may not fit in the class.
I think the pro tree is more fitting for heads up racing.
Min weight I think that 3400 is a happy medium I weigh in at 3550
After market tranny with out a trans brake only adds durrability.
After market PCM few and far between but lets see how everyone feels
C5R Heads and Sheet metal manifolds are a big step above the rest they should be in a seperate class to avoid domination.
Drag shocks are fine in any class

Again majority rules so lets here from everyone that is planning on competing in this class.

The rules for this class should apply to all class's except open class, the only diff between this and the NA stroker class would be no PA, the same could apply to the stock ci class as well-same setups allowed one class with pa the other without--so this is an important thread--

This looks more like a C5 shoot out than a Tuner Shoot out. But is still going to be awesome. I think if a tuner builds it then they can bring it. This should help u gus with some rules. Car & Driver does this every year. Hope this helps.. :) http://www.caranddriver.com/article....&page_number=1

I hope we here from LPE,MTI,ARE and others who have cars that may run in this class . If there's not enough cars we may have to combine it with an unlimited class.
