whining from the rear?
Ok guys i tried using the search, but couldn't find a sound answer. On my 00' c5 i have been hearing a whining noise from the rear. There is NO NOISE at idle, and NO NOISE when cruising with foot OFF the gas. It is when i am cruising, and press the gas, i hear a high pitched whining from the rear. I am thinking that it may be a fuel pump, but i don't know The car has 27,000mi. If it IS the fuel pump, do you guys replace it with the GM one, or an aftermarket one? Thanks guys, all help is appreciated

I don't think it's the fuel pump. You would hear it all the time-idle, cruise, etc. Sounds more like a ring/pinion noise. Kinda hard to tell without being in the car. With low miles, seems like that would be unlikely. Have a shop listen to it. SCOTT

98tranz-On my 99FRC I had the same thing happen from about 35-40mph upward. Occured during easy accellerate more than decellerate. I had two months to go on warranty and my dealer replaced the complete unit. I had about 27,000 miles showing as well. Does not sound like a fuel pump. Good Luck
