I am getting the 19" CCWs and trying to figure out what tires to go with. I am not sure if tubbing the car is worth getting the extra tire to the ground or whether having more sidewall will help me hookup better.
I have 4 options I have narrowed down to.
I am guessing I can get the car tubbed for $500-$700.
Would that be worth the trouble?
Also, the car is a daily driver for whatever thats worth.
tub it and go HUGE!! You will love it!! Now, about not having DR's for that application, just learn to drive better! :D And you can always have a different set of wheels out back for the drag tires....
I am trying to decide the same thing. Is it possible to fit 345s on the 19x11 rears. Or is john making them in a 19x12 now?
no, you cannot run that large of a tire on that small of a width.... On my LT4 vette, I run a 335 on a 13 inch rim... and it fits 100%, same on my viper... for a 345, I would never go under 13 inch width! Even the 19x12 is too small IMHO for 345!
Looking at that Viper Pic in your sig...reminds me of why Dodge Challengers were called UGLY Camaros. :jester
345 will fit on a 12" it might crown a little though..definetly a better contact patch with a 13" wide wheel. But there are guys using the 345 on an 18X12. What we really need is a 315/35 DR to go on a 11.5"-12" wheel.
I ordered mine with the Pilot Sport 295/35/19 rears (on the 11" width). The Pirellis were considered, but I like the idea of a little more sidewall in the back, and the Mich's are great tires. I've heard that the PZero's wear pretty fast, and that certainly was a secondary consideration.
Now, if those things would get here before the long Thanksgiving weekend, I'd definitley be "Giving Thanks" :smash:
Just a heads up, those rear tires in the yokos are on backorder. Last I checked Tire rack still had a few in stock. Just what I was told by my local dealer.
Anyone know if Michelin makes a 275/35/19? The tire rack site kinda indicates they make that size but doesnt have the specs for that size.
You'll want a 275/30/19 for the front, and yes, The Pilot Sports come in that size. A 275/35/19 would be too tall.
The 275/30 is identical in overall height to the stock C5 17" tire ( which is slightly taller than the stock Z front tire). This is what's on the front of my car.
Well Kumar, if you are getting the Michelin deal from Nate, that is only on the 275/30's as those are the size that were purchased in bulk. That is what I'm going with and I'm sure it will look great...Got my tracking number today, so mine are on the way!!!
