That's only the upper limit in the PCM. The MAFs are the same.

Anyone ever check out an LT1 MAF? ;)

I find it interesting that LPE uses the older MAF on their Turbo cars (or at least I was told by one of their customers they used too).

I believe it just related to the PCM. The 97/98 MAF PCM table maxes out at 11250HZ at 428.52gm/s. The 99/00 MAF PCM table does go up to 12000HZ however it flatlines 428.52gm/s from 11250HZ to 12000HZ. My guess would be the physical MAF is the same, but the PCM calibration is slightly different. If you aren't maxing our your MAF I would not worry about it.
