OK, here's the deal: I did the stock "turn down the suspension bolts" as much as you can without cutting anything, and I only got about 1/2" lower front and rear. I'd like to take it down about another inch, and I can get aftermarket longer rear bolts, which presumably will allow me to adjust up and down within a fair degree of adjustment. Obviously, though, if I'm going to take the front down lower, I'm either going to have to cut the bushings in front or take out the front lowering bolt altogether. My concern is that doing either of those might lower the front TOO much. I assume that if the front lowering bolt is removed altogether there won't be any possibility of adjusting the height back up. If, however, I cut the front bushing and it's too low, can I ratchet it back up by adjusting the bolt or do I have to get a new bushing and cut it less? And, are the front bushings available throught GM to purchase separately if I somehow totally screw things up? Thanks for any response.
If you only cut 1/3 or 2/3 of the bushing, you cannot be too low because you can go back by turning the bolt. I would start this way.
No, as far as I know you cannot buy new bolts for the front. You will have to try to get some used ones. I got two of them......but the FE1 springs will be in this pakage :D

:iagree: C5Frederik is right. If you remove the front bolts cannot buy separately, must purchase entire plastic spring. I cut the bushings 2/3 and you can adjust back up to stock height if desired. Mine lowered 1-3/4 front.

A bolt is a bolt is a bolt....buy a bolt with same thread and grade...weld a small plate to it and slide a rubber snubber over it...what's the big deal?
Did you put some miles on it after adjusting? It will settle a little more after you drive it around. I would say put some miles on it and see where it sets before you go more radical.

:iagree:
I dropped 1" front / 1 1/4" rear on stk bolts but it took several 100 miles
Not trying to be harsh here but don't make this harder than it is.
If you take the bolt completely out and the car is too low put the bolt back in.
If you leave the bolt in and you cut too much bushing off, just raise it back up or glue the piece of rubber you cut off back on. Or make your own bolt, etc.
No, you can't buy just the bolts from GM. Not a problem. Just don't throw them away.
BTW: Some folks have had trouble after taking the bolts completely out. What you have then is the bottom of the spring riding on the lower control arm, a situation I would not be comfortable with.

I just want to thank all of you for your input, even though some of it was a little conflicting. You increased my knowledge a lot and improved my confidence on this, and I couldn't ask for more than that. Thanks. It was ALL very helpful.
