Hi, I'm 18 and I would love to have a job tuning cars in a shop like the ones I see on here all the time. The question is, what kind of training/education/experience would I need to work in a place like this? I am currently in university taking first year engineering, but I'm not sure it's really what I want to do, I'd rather work on the cars than in an office putting all my math and physics skills to work. Also if you wouldn't mind I'd like to know what kind of salary I could expect, I realize it wouldnt be as much as engineering, but it's more important to like my job. Any help would be appreciated, thanks, Adam
And to the mods: I realize this isnt really tech/performance, but i didn't know where else to put it, Sorry, Adam
stay in school and finish your engineering degree.
car tuning will only get harder in the years in the future with more tech stuff, much of what you see on these forums is already bullpoopie about gaining all that rwhp.
once you are a real engineer, you can afford that year's new corvette and either accept it as bought or find someone who can use diagnostic scan tools properly and show you why it is so hard to improve on the stock car from bowling green, ky...
