caliper rem., cable off the rotor is catching up on the parking brake shoes, what did i forget? also anyone take off the rear axles? i need to replace my spindle, cracked it after sliding into a curb
Probably didn't forget anything. If you can turn the rotor by hand, the parking brake isn't holding it on. Some of the C5 rotors had a spring clip attached to one or two of the wheel studs...... so check that.
There is usually a layer of rust that keeps the rotor from easily coming off. You will need a nice 5lb rubber mallet and bang the rotor from the backside. Only other way is with a big gear puller.
When I attempted to remove the rusted rotors off my 2000 Coupe........ I had to bang the backside of the rotor facing really.really hard until it popped off. :smash:

:iagree: Just bang on it couple of times evenly around the rotor and it should come off.
