I am looking into purchasing a PC based scan / datalogging package and am curious what people are using. Doing a search of the forum netted an interesting discussion comparing Autotap and Ease BUT it was from 2001.
Any thoughts on pro's and con's of Autotap (enhanced and EFI Live) and Ease software would be greatly appreciated...any other options would be interesting also.

I used to use the old DOS version of autotap  but I just switched to EFILive which can use my current autotap cable. I'm very impressed with it. :yesnod:

The older Windows versions of AutoTap were buggy beyond belief. However, the latest (last year's) version works fairly smoothly. It stayed connected during 3 dyno pulls last month, and those of you who've used the older versions know how hard that used to be. You take the data file, export to Excel and analyze from there. I haven't used the other available programs like EASE.

Do you find the interface easy to use? Also is the realtime monitoring interface visually 'good' i.e. can you glance over and see what is happening without waiting for an export of the data (to excel)?

See for yourself checkout their website http://www.efilive.com/
Interesting features are realtime playback, guage view, graph view and it can of course export to a .csv file for Excel. I'm a newbie on it and am still learning about it.
