Hi, im going to install a new air bridge and a blackwing today and was wondering if it is necessary to disconnect the negative battery cable and if so why ? Thanks guys
Most don't disconnect the battery, for the actual installation there isn't a need to.
Some say disconnecting it resets the computer, so it starts the relearn process faster. The computer will relearn and adjust for the additional airflow over time anyways. Don't expect a dramatic performance difference until you put 100 miles or so on it.

It is also a CYA for the manufacturers because the C5 electrical/computor systems are sensitive and complicated. :yesnod:
I believe most call for the battery disconnect just a safety thing in case you hit something with 12 volts on it or cause the engine to turn over with your hand in something. Sid.
