Anyway I got a call from Gene this morning, and they have credited back my money. Thanks to all the forum members who helped me out with ideas and so forth.
Happy Holidays to all
PS: sorry mods for posting this al over the place yesterday, but I was POed.
Also just realized this probably deserves to be in general.
great, now would be a good time to hear from fred bean saying that it was a difficult situation and they were pleased to have satisfied this customer and all other customers would be treated in the same courtious manner. :chevy :flag
Re: UPDATE: Fred Beans makes it right (2vettes2go)
great that it worked out, but i would not be expecting him to suck it up like that all of the time. i read his reply and his side of the story seemed to make a bit more sense. i think the post office should have eaten it. my .02
I really wanted to talk to you personally and all, but I'll give the honest description of why I ended up crediting it.
I felt like we left off that you would check with the USPS and if you came back and told me they wouldn't pay it I would have credited it anyway. I also feel like you should have gotten a call about the damage and since you didn't I feel we were also at fault.
To be honest, when I opened it up and saw it was broken I asked my assistant to call you since he spoke to you about the credit.
One problem is in the month of December the managers in our organization are busy getting ready to close out the current year and bring in the new year. Not to mention Christmas parties to plan for the company, etc..
With all of the things going on I managed to let that slip through the cracks and I apologize. I'm not making an excuse, I'm explaining what happened to get me into that predicament.
I realized Friday night we were wrong for not calling immediately and when I spoke to my assistant and asked about the phone call he was supposed to make he looked like a deer in headlights. With me being in all of those meetings etc.. it causes him to take on a lot more work then what he signed up for.
Again, I apologize that our mistakes made you an angry customer. This isn't normally the way we do business. No phone calls, posts or flare-ups resulted in the credit.
To be perfectly honest, I didn't sleep very well at all Friday night because I was so upset about this. I spend a lot of my own personal time involved in this business and I care about every customer and every perspective customer. If I would have had your home # friday night I would have called you from my own home for certain.
This makes my day to come back and see a nice post from you. Have a nice holiday season. Now I can go watch the big Eagles & Cowboys game without thinking about this!
Re: UPDATE: Fred Beans makes it right (kumar75150)
You know my fiancee is from Texas and she likes the Cowboys. They are actually my 2nd favorite team. I was happy to see them resurge this year but that doesn't make me happy enough to see them cut the Eagles out of the picture! I would rather have had the Eagles lose last week becuase I don't feel any team can keep up a 7 week winning string for much longer. I'll say it anyway... E A G L E S :jester
