camshaft lsa?
hi folks! any cam people out there who could give me differences between two cams that have similar lift and duration specs but different lsa"s ? :confused: say 119.5 to 114. is there big differences in throttle response, torque curve, hp ect. any input is appreciated. :seeya

lobe separation angle is the angle you measure if you draw an imaginary line from the top-center of paired intake and exhaust lobes through the center of the cam. The narrower the angle, 110, 112 or so you get a narrower powerband lower in rpm but in most cases higher in power, higher LSA 114-119 gets you a broader power band without as choppy an idle. Lower LSA is also known for a punchy throttle response but is harder to tune. Lower LSA especially on big cams tends to move the power band back to usable rpms too.
