Check out the for sale section and you can find new/ barely used headers for sale. I bought a set of tpis headers (new) for 600 bucks and 400 to install and tune so your cost of 1900 for lgm's can be cut by almost half. The Lgm's probably make more power but you will need a tune when you put them in if you want to maximize rwhp.

 "boy" :lolg:

If more people actually read the threads that already existed out there on the subject we wouldn't have the need for this at all ;)

Everything you've asked about has already been answered thousands of times, and I'll bet, if you did some reading 1st, you wouldn't have the questions you do.

I'm ordering Kooks headers tomorrow. There's a GP going on and you can save around $300. They're full stainless steel w/ flange connections instead of slip-fit. They looks awesome and are a very well known mfg. in the F-body world.

If someone asked me this question, if I did not know, at least I would lead in the right direction for old posts or links,,,,I am sure everone who is an expert on this forum asked questions at some time that other thought were reduntant...

I'm going with the LG's. Everyone who has put them on (at least that I've seen or heard about) says they're top notch quality, easy installation, add signficant HP & torque and are a great fit on the car. I also have heard nothing but positive feedback from people on LG's service, technical expertise and responsiveness. Granted the LG's are among the most expensive, but I believe that you get what you pay for. I have mine on order and I should have them this week. Lou Gigliotti is a class act, makes a great product and stands behind it 100%. That's what I look for when I spend my hard-earned money!!!! Just my $.02. FWIW

Hi,
LG Pro Long Tubes are on sale right now. there is another thread going on in this forum. One additional thing to consider is the cost of installation of your headers. The LG Pro Long Tube headers are the easiest to install of all the systems out there. THe difference in installation cost puts your final cost for our headers right at the same installed price as the less expensive headers that are available. With our headers you do NOT have to lift the engine or remove starter motor. They just slide in from the bottom on the drivers side, and either top or bottom on the passenger side. Many have installed them in their garage.

Our headers have a true Random "Metal Matrix" cat that flows 580 cfm for the least hp loss. The LG Pro Long tubes are also the lightest system weighing in at 28 pounds less than a full stock system. Not to mention the full 3" stainless construction all the way from the engine back to the mufflers, including the stainless 3" X pipe and race style Merge collectors.

Give me a call at LG Motorsports and we can take care of your header or NOS needs.

thanks.

:iagree: Very good deals from the Vette Doctors and LAPD. Almost $500 cheaper than LG for a stainless LT that is flanged not a slip fit.

I won't tell you how much I paid for the Kooks, but lets just say I saved a "bit" more than $500 over the LGMs. Lou your headers were my first choice, but alas I'm on a budget and can do a whole lot w/ the money I saved and I'm still getting a great product.

I'm on the fence with these 2 header choices. I of course like the lower price, but I want the best of the best.. they both seem to be very well thought out.. I nede more info on the install of the kooks..

If money is no object then get the LGMs no doubt. They'll give you a little more mid-range torque (but not $500+ for me!). Both the Kooks and the LGMs are full stainless steel and supposedly top notch build quality. The Kooks have a flange connection from the headers to the mid-pipe where the LGMs have a slip-fit... the flange is supposed to be better.

After spending a few weeks looking at headers and talking with several differant vendors, I decided on the LG's. . I based my decision on: performance, quality, service, warranty and the install process.

Thanks Lou and Andy at A&ACorvette
