I installed the column lock simulator after my column locked up on my 2002 coupe. The install went fine and I was able to drive my car a couple of times untill today I get a DIC message that says "pull the key, wait 10 sec". The car won't drive more than 5 feet before it shuts off. I tried resetting the codes, disconnecting the negative terminal on the battery, and pulling fuse #25 out for 20 mins. None of this seems to work. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

If it were me---I'd remove the column lock simulator (CLB ??), call a flat bed tow truck and have them deliver the car to your dealer. Assume the car is under warrenty---let Chevrolet fix it... Good luck.. :cuss

:iagree:
I think one of the rules is that you column lock must be working before you install the bypass. If it's already broke you may be sol?

1: try another key
or
2: leave door open, insert key, turn to 'On', wait for msg, turn 'Off', remove key wait for relays to switch, about 2-3 sec., close door, insert key, start as normal.
#2 works for me, seems BCM wants to see a full cycle of the CLB, course mines a 98 and has a finicky BCM
