Need AC help
I have a 97 C5, the AC button just blinks when I hit it to come on, and the compresser never turns on. I put headers on my car about 3 weeks ago, and I am not sure if one has anything to do with the other, but I have never tried it until now. I checked all the obvious things. Has anyone ever seen this before, if so what was the problem. Thanks for any suggestions. :confused:

Probably needs a re-charge. Mine was doing that this past spring so I bought a kit at a parts store and dropped a few cans of R134a in it. Has been fine since.

Typically, this does indicate a recharge is necessary. If you have a scan tool at all, you can monitor AC pressure. It is probably too low (or empty). You might need to take it somewhere to check for a leak. Make sure the lines are not hurt at all.
If it is the original charge, it is probably time to do it anyway. I believe that it is recommended every two years to operate at full efficiency.

I really appreciate all your inputs, I will check the lines then get it serviced, I was really scared it was the head unit or somthing that would cost me a boat load...
