Question - My C5 (01) rims will be changed to chrome rims tommorrow.
If reprogramming is needed what type magnet can be used (other than the GM magnet) to force the sensor to transmit the identification code?
I have the 2001 Service Manual that contains the procedure.
Any addtional tips would be appreciated.
Re: Magnet For Programming TPM Sensors??? (joemoia)
I used the base from one of those mag mount lights with the goose neck. The light was broken so I took the goose neck off. The hole was just big enough to fit over the valve stem. The only problem I had was with the last sensor (LR) didn't want to learn. A couple of weekends ago the temp got to over 60* and they all 4 finally learned. My keyless entry/pressure sensor computer doesn't work well when its cold. Bad connection I suspect.
Re: Magnet For Programming TPM Sensors??? (rhoeven)
Thanks to all for the magnet info.
Chrome wheels were mounted and old sensors were installed on chrome wheels earlier today.
I had the tire personel make sure the sensors were installed on wheels that were going back to the sensors original location.
I had a magnet and the reprogramming instructions with me, but reprogramming was not needed.
