what do i have to do to send my pcm out to have the fan settings changed. I have a 160 degree thermostat and the car never sees anything under 40 degrees. what should i have them set at , and what is involved in taking out and putting back the pcm. Thanks for any input.

If all you want is the fan speeds changed, you can buy a Diablo or a Hypertech and do it. The dealer can do it with the Tech II or some one with an LS1 edit can change it. It is not necessary to remove the PCM and send it any where just to adjust fan temps, I do it all summer long with my diablo.

if you ever plan to do any future modifications to the motor you might want to consider getting an LS1Edit license. This tuning program opens the door to a tremendous amount of tuning power, to include changing fans on/off setpoints.

If all you really want to do is change your fan setpoints, pick up a used Hypertech Programmer for your model year C5 which has some basic tuning functions such as fans setpoints, tire size, gear size, minor performance tuning parameters, etc. I see them go for ~$250 or so used. This would be more cost-effective than sending out your PCM + you dont have to worry about pulling your PCM and being without your car or any damage or lost freight happening.
