Just want some more NA power and a higher rev'ing motor (my car tops out 4th gear at about 112 MPH with the 4.10's). Need the cam to be 100% streetable and reliable, as this car is my daily driver (about 40 mile round trip per day).
Here's a list of my mods - NOS 100 hp dry shot, LS6 intake, headers, x pipe, cat back, Blackwing, Accel 30# injectors, 4.10 gears (M6 tranny), and an underdrive pulley. Car makes 355 rwhp and about the same tq NA, and 420 rhwp and 470 rwtq on the juice.
Thinking the 231/237 would go good with the juice. Or is that too big? Would a 224/227 be better for everday driving? Any help is appreciated.
The 224/227 would be a good choice if valve train durability and daily driveability are concerns. The 231/237 would make more power but it's high lift would be harder on your valve train. For good valve train reliability I would limit the lift to .560-.570 I would also use a dual valve spring like the New Cranes or Comps New dual springs.
