I'm thinking of adding these over the winter but I'm not sure what to expect. I'll be putting them on my 2000 frc with a duel K&N intake setup. Aside from that the engine is stock with no headers. What, if any, gain can I expect except loss of hearing? Also where in line should they be installed?
I would like to no more about the cutout . That duel K&N intake want help your performance much. Try Vortex ,Vararam ,Halltech ,or Blackwing.

I'm very interested in these. Where do you get them and how hard are they to install and how much? I assume they are not street legal when opened but, could you get into trouble when trying to get a smog?

Re: Anyone using electric cutouts? (XTrooper)
[QUOTE]I don't know about any performance gains, but my QTEC electric cutouts are the best damn fun you can imagine!
] :iagree: 10000% as i have them to on my 427 car and they are a FREAKIN RIOT, especially since you can adjust the sound by just cracking them open partial way or all the way depending what mood your in, etc.
However, on a stock C5 don't expect any power gains and on H/C or Stroker set up the most guys usually pick up, if anything, is 10 rwhp and or torque. However, this is one of the funnest MODS one can DO!!!!!!! :smash: :chevy  :flag
