Anyone have experience with these? I'm looking for that muscle car sound, but not the insane volume as Corsa's, etc... (to anyone who owns Corsa's, you are excluded from my criticism!)... I have a Z06 cat back, but it's just a tad too quiet...
Flowmaster makes a nice sound.. check out the clip on their site. I run a flowmaster 50 on my Jeep and it accents it very nice.. good thick 16 gauge steel, fully welded design.. it's beastly and will last.
However for the Corvette I chose GHL. Lowend is nice and quiet, deep, rumble.. but when you get on it   it's MEAN!
I have the new Flowmasters with the round tips. They are very good sounding, deep growl when you start the car then they mellow out until you stomp on it. Then they get nasty.
I'm thinking about selling mine because I want something more aggressive. Possibly a custom set made up of either the F-body Flowmasters or the F-body Dynomax Super Turbos. Those are very aggressive and can be a little imtimidating for some people. I happen to like them.
If you are interested in buying mine, let me know. I got them for a good price so I can sell them at a good price.
I've had them on my Vette for 2+ years now. I am actually going through my third set. This is because for some damn reason the packing inside the muffler inself comes loose and makes all types of rattling noise that is VERY noticable.
It always starts with the passenger side then moves to the Drivers side after a few weeks.
I love the sound and growl of them believe me, but I am going with another brand because these suck after 20,000 miles or so. At $350-400 a side, it's just not worth it.
weird! flowmaster 50 (for my Jeep) was about $130, 16 gauge fully welded steel.. it's held up for about 55K miles and 2 years so far of pretty hard offroad conditions, smashed with rocks, plastered on mud, salt in the winter and it's working still very well. I wonder if Flowmaster gets cheap with the corvette muffler's.. that sucks :(

I wonder that too. I was talking to some guys a Jiffy lube while I was getting my oil changed and they said they see this a lot with F-bodies and Vettes that have Flowmasters. One guy even mentioned how it is always the passenger side first before I even mentioned it.
And this is the 3rd set that has done this too me. And all started on the passenger side. I think I am going to go with Borla's. They sound almost as good but Flowmasters have the best "muscle car" sound as far as i'm concerened.
I've got a couple of single 3" in dual 2" out 2 chamber delta flows that I'll give you if you want to try them on you C5. I used them for a season on my C4...you'd have to figure out how to mount them on a C5.
They flow very well. They are very heavy. They are very noisy...102Dba @ 50' on my racecar. If you're running cats, then no problem. sj
Oh my gaawd! A manager at FlowMaster sent me a comp set of their "quietest" onc time for a 500 hp project car and they were so loud I couldn't believe it! I can only hope the current C-5's are more civilized. :yesnod:
They sound good on my H/C car. I have 58,000 miles on them and have not had a problem. No rattles etc. My office in Culver City is close to Torrance if you want to hear them sometime. There are several great sounding exhausts but it really comes down to personal preference as you will find. I have contemplated making a swap several times just to try something new, but I personally like the sound of the Flows. I also do not experience very much resonance as many claim.
I have had flowmasters on my car for 2 yrs now and have had no problems whatsoever. I have h/c/supercharger/longtubes/x-pipe and no cats.the muffs have VERY little resonance. In my opinion, borla stingers sound like a $20 set of glasspacks....oh yeah, they are a $20 set of glasspacks with corvette inflation added. :D :leaving:
I loved the Flowmaster's when I had a Mustang...but on the Z06...it's the Borla Stingers!! May be too loud for your taste. Haven't heard Flowmasters on a Vette yet. :jester
Please stay away from Dynomax!! They are the worst quality setup ever. You'll lose performance.. gain horribly crappy muffler's that are worse than stock quality.. yes they're louder than stock but the quality of those muffler's are *HORRIBLE*. Just ask an exhaust shop about comparing the quality of Dynomax to Flowmaster or another big name and they'll probably rant on for several minutes how BAD Dynomax is. My exhaust guru here won't even install them on vehicles because they usually go bad in a year or two due to the horrible quality.
I have the flowmaster muffs. Like the sound. I added a Magnaflow X-Pipe to reduce the noise on deceleration. Sound is good and the price is reasonable.
