Default How to prevent burnt plug wires

Ok everyone, I am looking for some real world experience info on the best product/technique to prevent burnt plug wires after a header install.
I spoke to the Taylor rep today and he said that even the Cool Socks product will not prevent the wires from getting burnt. He said the heat will go right through the product. He suggested header wrap (the stuff that looks like an ace bandage), which is not something I care to do.
Any other suggestions????
TIA

He suggested the two best ways to keep the wires from being torched. Do both! You don't need to wrap the whole header, just the spot where the wires are close to the tubes.

I have headers and have the "Firesleeves" from Thunderracing.com...and have never had an issue. I am using the 10.4 mm Taylor wires too :)

Check out these spark plug wires. These are what I've been using with great success. :yesnod:

With my B&B headers and socks one wire burned. Got MSD wires that are perfect length to clear the headers and have not burned any, no socks.
