Ok, after my suspension swap I had a squeak. Well it may have been there before but I became hyper sensative to everything after the swap.
Anywya, people said. it is the sway bar. wasn't the sway bar. They said, it was the spring. Wasn't the spring.
Got in the drivers side well and it was the upper a-arm area in the rear. People said, yep your a-arm is bad.
But I looked again and pushed on the mount the a-arm bolt goes through. when I pushed on the mount, it squeaked. sprayed some WD40 all over there and it went away. i'm sure it will be back, but I'm not sure how to get a welded part to stop squeaking other than finding the rub spot and grinding it out. Any suggestions.
You should not have any noise from that area. Squeeking indicates that something is loose or broken. Do your self a favor and inspect everything very carefully for failed welds, loose bolts, etc. If that A arm or mount fails while driving it will be disasterous.
One of my lower arms had a squeak that would go away only for a few days after spraying it with WD40. The bushings aren't replaceable, you have to replace the whole arm.
It is not the a-arm and nothing in that area looks cracked, stressed or loose. It is a welded piece and it is obviously rubbing somewhere. Maybe it is a frickin' rock up in there, but I can't see anything.
