Having been down this road many times I know the enormous suck factor of having to do the job over because it isn't right..... :rolleyes:
I may be new to this forum but I have over 30 years experience at this and the last 20 have been as a powertrain engineer with GM. :blueangel: :cheers:

Vette magazine did a pretty involved tour of the LSx engine plant.
From Vette Magazine, May 2002 St. Cathrines Engine Plant Article:
According the article, the LS1's are filled with oil and cold spun to 2000 RPM.
The LS6's are fired on propane and run for 2 minutes on a transducer due to higher redline, and different components.
Imbalances are checked and weight is either added to the flywheel or the harmonic balancer.
