I have a 2001 A4 and I am interested in Supercharge/Exhaust opinions.
A friend of mine recommended that I go with a supercharger of my choice (he says it is a toss up when it comes to gains) and then use a Borla Stage II exhaust.
I have not been able to find a Borla Stage II exhaust so I am wandering if my friend knows what he is talking about. Thanks

Re: Supercharger exhaust options (brownk63)
I'm not in the office so I can't look it up in our new Borla catalog, but I don't recall Borla making any exhaust called a "Stage 2". So It is possible that your friend doesn't know what he is talking about. :jester
I would recommend the Vortech supercharger as it is the only California Smog legal system for C5s at this time. The other guys have promissed a legal version, but they have been saying that for a while. we have installed several Vortech systems on C5s and are happy with the upper RPM boost. They are quiter too. The Magnacharger is our favorite as the boost comes in at a lower RPM and the install is much easier, but it isn't smog legal yet and it does require replacing your hood with a high rise cowl style hood. Either of these usnits roll out the door for about $8500 installed, with programming. Magnuson is supposed to come out with an intercooled and smog legal version this spring and will be about $1200 more (price not final yet).
i am running a votech with stainlessworks headers and borla stingers cat-back.....first dyno run with initial tuning got me 472 hp at the wheels....i installed it myself and it wasnt all that bad  (well) ...i think you will be happy with any of the superchargers out there....they all make great power and comes down to a personal decision on which one to go with
