Default SLP vs GM Intake Manifold

I am going to convert the intake manifold on my 2000 vert. to a 2001+ type. I have researched the configuration differences and understand about the coolant tubes and EGR (F Bodies) not required. My question is SLP has a manifold that appears to be the same as the GM model. Is this just resale of the GM part or is there a reason SLP's cost 50 bucks more. It comes with the air bleed tubes but not gaskets. The GM part comes with gaskets not the tubes. Is there any other difference?

No difference at all. SLP is reselling the GM intake. The GM intake already has the gaskets installed and SLP must be removing them and selling them separate to make more money, that is total BS!

You can also wait a month or so until the LSX Intake starts shipping and there will be a ton of used LS6 intakes for sale.

Do a search for Fred Beans Chevrolet in this section or the "for sale" section. I think they are running a special on the LS6 intake (with gaskets) & coolant tubes/plugs for about $410.00 shipped! Can't beat that. You can also wait a month or so until the LSX Intake starts shipping and there will be a ton of used LS6 intakes for sale.

What the others said. SLP slaps their name on the intake manifold and then tries to overcharge you for it. BTW, you can get the intake for $350 and the coolant tube and plugs for $35 from our sponsor, Texas Speed. :) Depending on where you live, you can usually get it to your door for less than $400!

I bought the manifold from SLP, for $419 shipped I got the manifold with gaskets and the coolant tubes, also with gaskets.

At the time it was the absolute best deal out there. :auto:

:iagree: That is what I am going to do with my SLP intake once the LSX comes out. 90mm TB sounds niiiice. Your chioce play the waiting game or if your power goals are not that high look around for deals on take offs. $300-350 is the usual price. The deal at the FS link is not bad. I got mine @ $ 399 from SLP direct. :seeya
