I am trying to determine which system I will be going with. I want a system that will give me a good, deep, throaty sound and more HP. I will also be adding an x pipe and high flow cats, or striaght pipes. I need someone to help me make my dicission. Please help. :chevy
I have heard th PRT's but, I have never heard the Stingers. I tend to like the look of the PRT's over the stingers, however I am not sure I want to sacrafice looks for sound and HP.
The stingers are definately louder, deeper, and have a lot more resonance. The PRT's look better in my opinion. I do like the sound of the stingers, however. Get the 4 tip, the 2 tip are :U
Well, I had a set of stingers installed recently and the right side was a different radial bend from the other resulting in uneven quads. I am still waiting for a responsible response from Borla. Their position is that it's an installation problem although I have had the local expert shop and GM dealer attempt to correctly install the pipes.
I beleive the fit and finish on the PRT's are better than the Borlas. I also heard the borlas install wasn't the best either.
I was in the same boat as you a few months ago. PRT's or Stingers. I heard sound clips of both, and the general opinion was the PRT's won in the sound department. Also the PRT's offer virtually no resonace, but I heard the stingers can drone you to death.
I love my PRT's. It has a nice, deep idle that never really gets annoying. You def wont be disappointed if you go w/ B&B Prt's. :steering:
Thanks everyone for the help. I will be going with the PRT's and an x pipe, with the high flow cats. I found out the Borlas would be alot louder than the PRT's with this set up. Thanks everyone for the help. :steering:

You might wanna steer clear of the x pipe. I heard it offers very little gains and it really QUITE's the exhaust.

It will make the exhaust a little QUIETER, and slightly change the tone. But it's mostly for eliminating resonace and popping.

Aww i love the popping sound on deceleration. Im not sure if it applies to all aftermarket exhausts, but i heard the x pipe really quited down the prt's. Somebody on here prolly has first hand expierence w/ that set up. I only have the prt's w/ stock H pipe.

I only have experience with headers, no cats, offroad x-pipe, stock motor and also heads and cam. There was almost no popping and almost 0 resonance before the heads and cam(even with no cats). After heads and cam were installed, there's resonance, but it's bearable for me, and still no popping.
Geeze some of you are so biased toward one system or the other. They both sound great, the stingers being a little deeper. As for volume they're about the same. As for quality and install (speaking for the borlas) they're perfect. The pipes, bends, and welds were all perfect on my set. They installed easliy and are alligned perfectly. BTW I love to custom look of the 2-tips, more racey in my opinion...
the borlas are loud inside and out.....the x pipe does make a difference. one side of my quad tips didn't fit. i called borla they said they would send them right out. so i'll let you know. all in all the sound is killer! :hurray:
