Default How the engine runs with a Plug wire loose

It runs rougher! I was getting a little missing and stumble on low rpm lugging conditions. It would cough sometimes at low rpm WOT to. The idle was much rougher and the overall the engine ran a little ragged and would start to break up and miss over 5000 rpms sometimes.
The #7 plug wire was on the plug, but not pushed home to "click" on like when it fully seated. It just fell off the plug with no pulling.
I changed plugs anyway even though the TR 55 with 10K on them looked perfect and the gap was still .055. I used some stock Z06 Denso platinum plugs that I had laying around, gapped them at .050. It all took me 3 hrs. I am embarrassed to say!
The stock plug wires and heat shields were in perfect shape, even though they come close ( almost touching) to the FLP headers, but there was no heat damage at all. I reused them. I really pulled on them hard to get them off, but they still work fine.
Engine runs much smoother and stronger. Next time I will check the wires before I change the plugs!

How the engine runs with a Plug wire loose
you didn't see my first couple of rides  On them the plug wires weren't "loose"... but the plug didn't fire because of the oil bath.

I'm curious though in your plug selection. How many different style spark plugs have you used and did any seem to have an advantage?

Mike, I only have used the 2 types of plugs, TR55's and the Denso stock Z06 plugs. Honest, I could not tell a difference between them by butt dyno. Like yourself, I spent years in the old days, "reading" plugs to analyse engine performance etc. The TR55's were perfect condition and just the right color etc, on my car at 10K miles, I would guess they would easy go double that.
I only put in the platinum Denso's because I figured I could get more miles on them before they wear out! I would love to see a back to back real dyno, I bet the TR55 old style plugs would win by about 3 to 5 hp.
