Default More stainless works header ?'s

O.K., Stainless Works seems to be closed for the holidays, so I thought I would ask you all. When you attached the cats, did you just line up the mount hols and keeps the mounts level? Are they designed so if you do it that way, it will line up correctly with the heads? IF I do it this way, it looks like I will need to cut a little of the ends of headers for everything to line up like factory.

Or do you mount them on the car and then tack on the cats?

Any advice appreciated.

Scott

My experience was that you do all the pipe and cat work after the headers are bolted up. You will have to cut out a setion of the mid pipe to get the cats to fit in the tunnel properly.

i finished the header install then i cut off the the pipes in frt of the cats ...after cleaning up my cuts i tacked the collector adapters on the freshly cut convertors...then i proceded to cut the pipes about 6 inches in frt of the H pipe and then i fitted the cats and adapters all the way on the headersand finished welding up the adaptors.........(now you need a beer and a bandaid for the burns...i forgot to wear gloves)...i then held up the h pipe and lined it up to see how much i need to cut off before i weld.....i should have measured twice..because i cut it a little to short...so i went to the parts store and got 2 sleeves 3 inches in length and slid over my gap(remember measure twice and cut once)and welded up the sleeves.....it was actually easier doing it with the sleeves because it holds everything together after you tack weld it..... :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:
