Default 01 ZO6 engine question

I have a complete engine out of a 01 ZO6 (i assume its 385hp), I am going to get an aftermarket wiring harness(stock ecu) and install it in a 70 Nova with a powerglide trans. and a 488 rear end gear (I am leaving the engine completly stock, exhaust manifolds and all) as its going to be a bracket race 1/8th mile car, now my question is at what rpm is peak torque on this engine?...I was going to order an 8in. converter but needed to know this peak tq. #...If i had to guess i would say that it needs to stall about 4500??
Thanks in advance

How much hp. would it gain with a 03 cam (to 405?) and what about any other bolt on where I wouldnt have to change stock ecu and or injectors?...I am wanting alot of reliabilty out of it and having alot of hp doesnt mean all that much (it is a bracket race)...I have heard of someone editing the ecu and putting more timing in it??
Thanks again

The possibilities are endless. I suggest you call http://www.yearone.com/enthusiast/ar.../69camaro.html for assistance. I believe they sell conversion kits at least for the Camaro. BTW this car is un-real, I've seen it at several of our local car shows.

Based on yalls (Its a Texas thing LOL) knowledge of these LS6 engines, what do you think one would run as i described above in a 3300lb Nova with the right Torque converter(powerglide trans 208 low gear ratio) and 488 gears (with absolutly no mods to the engine at all) and slicks obviously??..What do you figure the the 1/8th and 1/4 mile times would be??
You would think I could get pretty close as I drag race for a living, but heck I dont even know what these 01 ZO6s run stock??..Although I have now owned one for about two weeks and i love it!!
Thanks, jeff

P.S. Copy and paste these two links to see a picture of the two cars I race..

Just for your info, you can just hit "edit" and correct or change your post instead of making new posts.

on slicks in the nova 1/8 mile maybe 7.40's and in the 1/4 with 4.88 and glide i would say 11.75's@115mph. maybe a tad faster 4.88 's will have it flying. you should hit 12 flat easy all day bracket racing good luck. :yesnod:

Here are those 2 links again, for some reason your post was adding an additional http:// at the front of the url.
