Do you need to insulate the plug wires and boots after adding LT headers.
I'm adding MSD wires. :jester

What type of headers are you installing?

The headers I put on my car are coated to reduce heat so I didn't use them (although now that I said that I'll have a problem) if your headers aren't coated or you think your plug wires are just too close for comfort, then go to www.thunderracing.com and get some

I have been running Kool Socks since installing my LT headers. I have never had a problem with my wires as a result. :nono:

With FLP headers the number #2 and #4 spark plug wire come within 1/16"of the header (in fact, even touching) at the Hex shaped part of the rubber spark plug boot. The rubber on mine has not burned or discolored or deterioriated in 10Kmiles of very aggressive street driving. One of my spark plug tips came loose and cause a miss so that is the only reason I investigated.
I would use the Cool Sox, but I am worried that they would "trap" heat inside the sox and cause MORE rapid deterioration of the rubber and conductor. Until I see thermal probe data, I will not use them.

If I remember correctly, I used my Pyrometer (at an idle) on the exhaust tube on my car and the reading was up past 350 to 500 degree's
