The headers I put on my car are coated to reduce heat so I didn't use them (although now that I said that I'll have a problem) if your headers aren't coated or you think your plug wires are just too close for comfort, then go to www.thunderracing.com and get some
With FLP headers the number #2 and #4 spark plug wire come within 1/16"of the header (in fact, even touching) at the Hex shaped part of the rubber spark plug boot. The rubber on mine has not burned or discolored or deterioriated in 10Kmiles of very aggressive street driving. One of my spark plug tips came loose and cause a miss so that is the only reason I investigated.
I would use the Cool Sox, but I am worried that they would "trap" heat inside the sox and cause MORE rapid deterioration of the rubber and conductor. Until I see thermal probe data, I will not use them.
