I have an 01 vert with 12k miles.I have only had the car for 2 months.I put on a cold air intake and didn't notice before but when letting off the gas the car feels like it is hesitating/stumbling(like something is holding it back then speeding it up).I have put 1k miles on it since the intake was changed.I have no trouble codes or decreased gas mileage. The car idles smooth and drives smooth at most speeds but when I let off the gas it startsacting weird. Is this normal and maybe didn't notice before? The intake is a Granatelli cold intake not some cheap Ebay junk.Any opinions?
Just for kicks, take that new part and put the stock parts back on. If it goes away... dont put back that intake and modify your stock box by opening up the cover and installing a K&N filter instead. No sense on going through problems just to keep a single part on the car...it's just not worth it. :nono:
but when letting off the gas the car feels like it is hesitating/stumbling
 thats a new one on me, usually they hesitate when stepping on the gas not letting off, but I agree with Vettrdstr first remove the latest part you added and see if that has any affect.
My car is in the shop right now for hesitating while rolling on the gas and coming off as well as surging while driving at freeway speeds with the cruise control on. Using a Tech II to check the drive by wire system is what we are looking into and replacing 2 sensors and the Gas pedal unit if needed. Been doing it for years now... 770 FWHP only magnifies the problem... :)
I have all Granatelli parts and had the same problem. I found a crack in the seam of the air bridge. I would check all connectin points for possible air leaks.
What is the easiest way to check for a leak?I tightened all the clamps to make sure it wasn't leaking before I posted, but I didn't think about the air bridge. If I blow compressed air around the air bridge will it tell me anything?
I noticed this after i changed my gears , it only does it when im in between gears and the rpms get real low it feels like the car is missing . might not be the same problem.
