Since most of you guys seem to have been toying with your cars for awhile, I'm looking for some feedback on products. First, is the vararam worth the money and time invested installing it? Is there better bang for the buck? Second, I'm having a hard time deciding on an exhaust. Corsa seems to be the most popular choice, but I typically like an agressive exhaust. I don't want to deal with alot of resonance however. I heard a Borla that I wasn't thrilled with(it sounded like my v-star 1100!). Any help??? :banghead:

I runthe Vortec ram air in my car but will be switching over to the Vararam this thursday.Iwill post my results soon. The Corsa's are agressive and they perform on the track & the dyno.
For the past 1 1/2 years I have had the Vortex with CF bridge, descreened MAF, silicon coupler, Hypertech, Bassani X-pipe, and 2-tip Borla stingers. It sounds aggressive during normal driving -- and MEAN under WOT. The only thing I would do different now is get the 4-tip stingers instead. They were not out when I bought mine, and I have always felt that the 2-tips had a too large, ricey kinda look. But I figure there is nothing ricey about the Corvette, and it can carry the large tip look much better than a Civic!
Oh, and even though I have not dynoed it, there was a very definate SOTP difference! :yesnod:
Welcome. Most of the intake on the market are good and produce simialr gains. Look at the black wing as well its cheap and very simple to install and easily reverable. It also poroduces great gains. The Vararam is good, but its a bit more to install and there is potential of water entering the intake ( not much danger though). Just look around and see what you like best, again, just as long as you have one, you ll be breathing better. The same goes with exhaust. Once you get an aftermarket exhaust you see minimal gains, but there is not a big difference between brands and styles untill you are going from the headers back and messing with your heads/cam. Just pick the one that fits you likes and driving style and go with it. If you dont like it you can most likey trade with someone on the forum.

I went with the blackwing and Corsa Indys. Very happy, no resonance at all, loud at WOT but quiet at cruising speeds. Unless you're going to do more engine mods I would skip the Vararam and go with the blackwing....

I have the Blackwing and it takes less than 30 minutes to install. Looks great and definitely puts more air in the engine. As far as the exhaust, your choices are many. I went with the B&B Route 66 because I didn't want anything too loud and I wanted the tips to look good. Got both with this system.
