I see that Goodyear has redesigned the EMT for the C6. What I read said that they have corrected the ills of the current GY EMT. Does anyone know if this is correct and if so will they offer it in the C5 sizes?
I seriously doubt they will recommend them for the C5 because of how they were improved. The sidewalls are not nearly as stiff as they were on the previous version runflats and, to accomodate this, the Active Handling system was redesigned for the C6 to assist the car in running safely with the new runflats in zero pressure conditions. That means the C5 would not be able to utilize their runflat capability adequately.

Many people have switched to non-runflats, and other ZP tires with less stiff sidewalls with no adverse affects.
The new C6 Goodyears are within .1" of the diameter of the C5 stock tires so upgrading to C6 sized wheels and tires should work nicely on the C5s!

My guess is that the typical C5 owner just needs his runflat to not go completely flat, until he or she can limp home or someplace safe at a reduced speed. I doubt anyone around here would drive aggressively on a runflat tire at 0 PSI. If the C6 runflat is good enough to just support the car at a slow freeway speed, that's all a typical C5 owner needs, right?

Re: New EMT Design (57xray)
If the design changes work, then hopefully the tire will be a good replacement on the C5. Have to see a review of the tire compared to the current EMT.
