Default maf question

Hey guys I am finic=shing up the install on my Vararam today and I just pulled out my MAF. There is no screen in it. I am guessing either the previous owner removed it cause Im pretty sure they didnt take the screens out on the ZO6 till 2002. Mine is 01. Any thoughts or facts? Also it is stamed Delphi. Is this the manufacturer of the stock MAF? Im guessing it is because the airbox is also stamped Delphi. Thanks in advance for the help.

Your MAF is the same MAF that the General uses in their pickup trucks. Most folks cut the MAF honeycombing out of the unit with an exacto knife so there should be some piece(s) left as tell-tales. Also, Delphi is GM's brand product line so yes, it would be in a GM car.

It is possible that the previous owner purchased a 2002 MAF w/no screen.
