Just curious has anyone added shorty headers to an ATI setup? I have found a very good deal on a set of shorty headers and I am just wondering if they are worth the money? I will also remove the cats at the same time.
Shorty headers are usually good for a 10-12hp increase on a naturally aspirated motor and may provide more of a benefit on a supercharged car so they won't hurt.
I agree, I thought I was moving to the west coast when I put them on and they ran fine with my blower--I'm not sure with forced induction how much diff it makes, I know Joe COOOOl put lgms on his LPE mag setup and had good gaines over another brand--I would take the shorties over stock manifolds for sure--

I think it depends no how "good" of a deal you are getting on them...all things being equal Long Tubes are MUCH better.
:yesnod:
I have commonly heard "if you are not doing LT's don't bother". That being said, if shorties are good for 10-15rwhp on a normally aspirated car, it will have to make a bigger improvement on a FI car. . .
So, if I go with shorties and remove the cats, I should gain 25-30rwhp. Plus, I suspect the combination will also make the beast sound a little meaner. . .
Thanks for the input. . .if anyone else has info to share, please keep the posts coming. . .

Re: Shorty Headers on an ATI setup? (hogurt)
Shorty's are definitely better than stock, so I'd go for it. Shorty's are also a very easy DIY mod.
That being said, I couldn't believe how much the LTs and no cats woke up my car. I never had shortys on, so I can't testify to the difference but if you ever get a chance to go LT...do it.
I just had the new JBA 1 3/4 inch short headers installed on Friday. The baseline dyno was 402hp, and 375 tq. Next day same time it was 438hp and 442tq. They also have a 1 5/8 header for n/a cars. My car is quieter, smoother and noticibly faster.
I've been told before, on this forum that my numbers, especially before headers were very low as well as my track times (12.5 @ 110mph). It is however an A4. Do any of you have cars compareable to mine and the results?

Incredible. . .I will buy them and hope for half of the gains you got!
  No retuning with my exhaust, either. If you're taking the cats off don't forget to get a couple of O2 sims for the after cat sensors.
Don't overlook the LTs from Breathless, they step from 1 3/4 to 1 7/8 wit 3" collectors and are just about perfect for FI with H/C and all the other goodies.
