Default Yet another happy Vararam user!

I installed it a couple of days ago and have waited to form an opinion after giving the car some time to relearn.

Boy howdee, is fourth gear sure fun now! :auto:

What I really dig is sticking my hands in the foglight openings with the car idling and feeling the air being sucked past.

Next up will be the GHL's as soon as they come in and then I'll think about that lowering business. I've been able to avoid scrubbing the chin any further since the first couple of oopsies, so maybe I'll be able to live with a *ahem* modest lowering. :steering:

Dan

Crank your stock bolts down and that should be sufficient enough to get rid of the 4X4 height.

Don't I need to cut bushings or something? I'd really rather leave things so they can be easily reversed if need be.

Thanks!
Dan

Nope, you don't need to cut anything. Going as low as you can go on the stock bolts will be low enough, and not so low that you can't get over anything.

Make sure to get your car realigned afterawards, as your camber and toe will be affected by the change in ride height.

Have fun!

-Jake

Dan, glad you like the VaraRam. I guess I didn't discourage you the other day after all.

Lowering is easy and one of the best mods. I've lowered a few coupes and I've found that, the older the car, the more the springs have "relaxed" causing the car to start off lower to begin with. The lowest non-lowered one I've seen was MHFontaine's 98 coupe when he brought it over for me to help him lower it. His coupe had about 85K miles on it. When I lowered it, it looked seriously slammed.

Here are a couple of pics before and after I lowered mine. My '02 was a month old when these were taken.

Before

After

Here are a few pics I posted on the subject of lowering previously.

We can also tackle this at the next mod party, Dan. The PSP group has done this a bunch of times. Not hard at all. I am surprised we didn't lower any last weekend. It was the first mod day in a while where we didnt have at least 1 to lower.

Thanks very much for the post, Patches. That'll keep me from having to using the broken search engine here. :)

Thunder - I appreciate the offer, but I'm much too impatient to wait for the next mod day. ;)

Speaking of which, I just realized I'd better do the rollerblade wheels mod up front before I drop it.

Sounds like we are on the same page - I love my Vararam and GHL's. I also have the FLP long tubes, hi-flow cats, and X-pipe. All together, it really "woke up" the car.

Same page indeed! :)

Did you find the headers to make a nice difference in power at low rpms?

Thanks,
Dan
