Default Steering wheel slop?

My '02 Z06 with just under 36K has some play in the steering wheel. Dealer says it's normal or within limits or something. I can see the play is at the universal joint under the master cylinder. Does anyone know how to fix this. How about the part number for the steering shaft? Should I demand my dealer fix it before I go out of warranty?

I haven't noticed any problems but I haven't driven my Z in a while. I'll check tomorrow.

Hi SAXN8R -

I have no free travel in the steering linkage - none at all.

I hate free play in a steering wheel. It's not the 70's anymore.

Make them fix it, or fix it yourself. JMO.

best regards -
