Default tuning the 436

its down to that, we found where the battery leak from the original battery probably did some damage to the pcm over time and replaced it. trying to put a basic program on the new one now, hopefully by time we take the heavier break in oil out I will have the FAST 90mm intake and a TB for the major tune--the Vinci's fabbed an adapter for the headers to the 3" stainless works system that looks great--we put 750lb spring on the back and a poly bushing set throughout while it was apart and some new after market motor and trans mounts--the Exedy dual clutch feels great pressure wise I look forward to hearing what it sounds like--its FL so I will probably be lucky to get 480rwhp and probably lower than that with the 390 rearend that cost me 15rwhp on the blower motor--we'll know shortly but the real test will come at final tune--

Is that a 436 or 346?

BTW, as you know I will sympathize with you all day long about crappy FL weather. Yeah, we can drive our cars year 'round and not worry about snow, but we also get less street HP/TQ year round too.... something about 100% humidity and 98 degree heat that cars don't like ;-) Oh, and then there's that summertime thing where it rains EVERY FREAKING DAY... that gets a little annoying too!

Thanks Paul, no matter what they say about SAE corrected who ever developed that program needs to live in this climate for awhile because the corrected numbers are BS here--but I have never seen the strokers with these 508 to 530 rwhp numbers here and Rogers dyno is about as conservative as it gets--the car obviously will not be ready for FEB but I should be able to drive it to the shootout and get some miles on it anyway and have a blast watching everybody else blow their cars up, looking forward too it--wish I knew how to post pics of the polish job on the heads they are beautiful---the heads flow an honest 325 and the intake ports are still stock size and hopefully will get good swirl--

Tony-I stroked it to 436ci and looking at the dyno charts on several similar motors the torque and hp curves will be very similar to the blower motor, when the intake setup gets here I hope to dyno in as much power as I ran the blower at without having to deal with any of the blower related stuff-and the rain here cost me a motor a couple of years ago in a downpour I got caught in so you and I know what we deal with here in dyno numbers and rain storms, overheating in traffic with the ac on etc.

My 427 made 528 corrected RWHP on the Cartek dyno on a day when the temps were in the high 80s. Not FL, but pretty warm nevertherless.

The heat can be corrected its the humidity that kills us, as humid as it gets in Atlanta during the summer you may find your dyno numbers considerably lower as well though you started with a very good cartek number so bad for you would be great for me--

It's just the price you pay for living in a tropical paradise.

I'll be back on the dyno when (and if) I do another round of mods, such as the LSX manifold and possibly AFR 225 heads. In the interim, I'll enjoy my possibly inflated dyno chart.

I doubt it's inflated it just may be lower in the Atlanta humidity--I may get 480 here and 510 in NJ but Cartek is the master of getting every once of hp out of a setup--if you got 528 in NJ you would probably still get over 500 here but I would be very surprised if it were the same, you have a stronger motor than I built so yours will be more powerful no matter where we are. I will be very interested in what happens with the AFR's I can hear the money falling out of my pocket just thinking about it--
