I CHANGED RIMS ON MY 02 VETTE AND I AM NOT SURE THAT I PUT THE WHEEL SENSORS IN THE SAME SPOT FROM WHICH I REMOVED THEM... MY QUESTION IS DOES IT MATTER WHAT RIM THE WHEEL SENSOR CAME FROM WHEN I REINSTALLED THEM.. HOW DOES THE COMPUTER AND THE WHEEL SENSOR INTERACT WITH ONE ANOTHER

When you do a relearn the unique serial number and corresponding position, for each sensor is memorized by the computer. If you don't do a relearn the computer will be reporting the wrong position. In other words RF may be reporting 29 lbs. and it could be any other postion where the report is really coming from.
The relearn is "in the book," and works as advertised, first time-every time. You can use any relatively strong magnet. I used an old speaker magnet (about a three pounder--but can be considerably less) and didn't have to get it nearer than about an inch or so from the end of the valve stem. One guy here just drug a speaker out of the house from his stereo and freaked his friend he was helping! Of course, it worked fine holding the back of the entire speaker housing to the stem.
Any way to tell if I have the sensors in there? I get the error message on the DIC at start up and tried to "relearn" the sensors but never got the horn to sound. The guy I bought the car from said he thought the FM reciever was out but I don't see that in the error codes. so I was wondering if it's the reciever or the transmiters, IF they are even in there!

Re: WHEEL SENSORS (buggy27)
Yes, it does matter. When you program them, they are set to a specific corner. But, all you have to do is reprogram them not and the system will work. Take a strong magnet and follow the reprogramming instructions. Should be a "how-to" on the tech tips or just do a search.

I just had some M&S's put on and Discount Tire flipped the rears around (no diff with M&S's).....so are you saying a magnet relearn will allow the computer to recognize the new positons? Yes?

Yes that is what happens. The digital information center will ask you to place the magent at a specific location. The CPU then matches that sensors serial number to that location.
