Sorry if thise thread is terribly redundant, but I tried searching, and any word I typed in came back with no matching threads. But I am asking advice on basic bolt ons for my 2000 Corvette. I am of course looking for a new intake, to me the Varam or MTI Ram Air Intakes seem most promising, any opinions? Which Air Bridge should I use? What about exhaust, I am looking for a full exhaust, long tubes, x-pipe, high flow cats, great cat back...everything. Here is the thing on the exhaust though, I am looking for a refined mature sound. On my '95 Trans Am, I have headers/y-pipe, high flow cat, and bullet muffler with a turn down before the rear axle, and while the sound is wonderful and certaintely turns a lot of heads, I am looking for something much quieter for the 'Vette. I am just looking ( like everyone) for the best combination of parts.
Thank you for any help, and again I apologize if this question has already been beaten to death.
I'm in the same boat. Here's what I'm leaning to: 1. Kooks Headers w/high flow cats and x-pipe. 2. GHL exhausts 3. Halltech Ram Air Induction. Along wih an LS-1 edit, this should produce 45-50 more horses. And it's all bolt on!! Sound will be an individual taste. You might want to go with the Z06 exhausts instead.

The TPIS headers/RandomTech cats/x-pipe is an easy bolt-on with great gains and won't break the bank. There is a GP going on right now. For a coated system is around $1400. Also, it's hard to beat the Ti Z06 muffler system; it flows well, is subdued at idle and wakes-up when you want it to. These are attainable, used, for around $400-500. For the intake, it's personal, but Vararam, Blackwing and Vortex are all good choices. Haltech makes an excellent product, but are priced accordingly. Personally, I went with the Blackwing and a CF air bridge; the Blackwing's hard to beat at only $200. Good luck and keep us informed of your decision. Chris. Oh yaeh, most importantly, WELCOME!
I bought a used Zo6 cat back and kept stock cats. I like the sound - I went with the Z06 after taking off a set of PRTs (too much noise driving around town).
Also found TPIS headers on ebay for $500 (two years ago).
Thank you for all your help!
Here is what I think I maybe decided on, though it will take a long time to actually accumulate all these funds:
Vararam Intake
Air Bridge (dont know which brand yet)
FLP Long Tube Header System
Corsa Z/Titanium Series Street Mufflers
HPP3
I considered an Underdrive pulley, but for the ~$300 price tag, It doesnt seem so appealing. I have a BBK one on my LT1 T/A, and truthfully I never noticed a difference besides my Volts considerably drop at stop lights.
Air bridge won't give you any HP gains on a vette. People do it for looks rather than performance gains. If you are looking for performance gains on a limited budget, you can skip the air bridge mod.
Hey Thanks Pal!
You just saved me a couple of hundred dollars. I appreciate the heads up. Is there any other bolt ons I should forget about? I understand about the Air Bridge, on LT1s, everyone made a huge deal about getting a 1LE Intake Elbow, but almost no hp was gained, and was popular basically just for the sake of being able to list it as a mod.
Thank you Cary for the PM and great info, thats a great car you have!
Thanks
