ok,anybody who moans about installing lgm's headers is either doing something wrong or is NOT mechanically inclined.installation took 2.5 hours on a lift with no air tools with removing both valve covers, alternator, spark plugs, battery.right side went in through top with no problems.left side went in
from the bottom,no problems.only thing i did different then the instructions was secure the headers to the heads, loosen the bracket on the bell housing,
then install the bell housing/header bolts[went together like perfect].lou's headers are the way to go.no cursing,no yelling, screaming, nothing!no need to remove the oil filter, starter, motor mounts, etc.installation went with no snags or check engine light/o2 faults.
the b&b bullet went in with no problems, other than the right side extension pipe was somewhat "dog eared"where it met the tail pipe section, but did not leak[i am going to contact b&b anyway].but otherwise snag free.
as for performance you can't beat either for the "bang for the buck".i was going to go for the ls1-edit,but after running down the garden state parkway @ 115 mph after the install, you can definitely feel the car is running alot freer.
the bottom end torque is up and the horsepower is up.my car is a 03 z06 which ran great stock, now the only mods i have done is air[dual snorkel],air duct[carbon fiber bridge],lgm headers,b&b bullet exhaust.i believe i have finished all engine improvements, now i have to change the shifter to eliminate
the "rowing a boat"scenario.
just my .02
You need tuning, Ive trapped at 114mph with a vararam and some are getting that speed stock, tracks vary too. I remember when I first put a set of mac midlengths on a LS1 with a Vortech. I thought it pulled harder but according to the dyno I hadnt gained much at all, after tuning and leaning it out a bit I picked up another 30rwhp/20ft lbs. You gotta tune!
Sweet, congrats on the install!! I just ordered my LGs this past Tue. Hoping they come in this coming week, and like you, doing the install myself. As for a shifter, I installed a Hurst a couple months ago and love it. If you go with a Hurst just be sure to use locktite on the set screws!!
that was quicker than my install, if I had just removed the alt first,, it would have saved my and hour,,,,the rest was a piece of cake..but,, my starter def needed to be loosened and the bell houseing bolts did not line up ell, but the quality is good,,,and I would rec them to anyone...best system I have seen,, and I looked a all of them
How does the new setup sound???? I already have the bullets, and love their sound. I have been seriously thinking about the LGM's as well. Also already have a hurst....get it, it is great.

:iagree: I'm looking to get some LG's within the year tie up my exhaust mods....LG's & Bullets!
Please post some dyno #'s if you can!
I had my LTFT's changed by 4% after the LG's were installed. I'm going to the dyno this week. I'm anxious to see what the differences will be in HP & TQ.
Re: lgm header/b&b bullet install completed!!!!!! (Leo the Lion)
i took out the battery heat shield and the battery.it gave me enough room to slip the header down with out the lower mounting tab on the header hitting the starter.it slipped right in.
You have no idea how good this makes us at LG Motorsports feel. We had faith in our headers and convinced Borla to build them for us, and they have worked out better than we ever expected. They make horsepower, they are easy to install, (sort of) and there have been very few manufacturing issues.
The hardest part is keeping them in stock.
thanks again for the vote of confidence and I will see you at the races!
