Yeah...it's good for changing timing and shift points, as well as speedo corrections with gear changes. :)

Power tuning-wise, some gain and some do not. However, if you have an automatic, you can change shift points (for each gear) and shift firmness. These two alone make a big difference in the car. If you have either an auto or manual transmission, you can also change fan turn-on temps, rev limiter setting, plus many other things. You would like it and it's easy to use. I believe there's one for sale, used, in the C5 Parts for Sale right now. You can buy one reasonably priced this way and then resell once you sell or trade your car. Two things to be careful of when buying used:
1) Make sure the original vehicle it was used on was returned to stock with that Hypertech, otherwise, it will not work on your car. They work on one car only at a time. If the original was returned to stock with the unit, no sweat on it working on your car.
2) They are model, and year, specific. You must get one with a part number for your car. In other words, one for a 1998 C5 will not work on any other model year C5. Go to the Hypertech website for the part number.
I have a 2000, which I believe you do also, and really like it. Heck, a fan controller alone costs as much as one of these and is not as easy to set. Good luck with whatever you decide!
