I can't say much, but I know of some R&D sets of these AFR's that have been ported and polished and are putting out insane flow numbers.

Tony,

You are welcome to drive my Z06 if you are ever in town(an dI would certainly volunteer it as a test mule for the AFR heads), but I was actually talking to Hockeydoc, as I think he lives in my hood.

Mike
WOW 2 people from Portland in the same thread. Gotta be a new record. So do you know of anyone in the area that knows anything about C-5s?

Hermit,

Get in touch with Steve Heino at MdGees atomotive. He has a mustand dyno and LS1 edit. He managed to put an LS1 in his 69 camaro so he must know something, + his dyno rates are pretty cheap.

You can also try Robert Judd, who posts on the forum. He is putting a 4xx stroker in his C-5 and he is supposed to be pretty good with LS1 edit.

I have a very good friend who works at a local dealership and he is going to do the heads and cam on mine.

e-mail me at mike@colbachlaw.com so we can hook up next time I go to Woodburn or PIR.

Fellow Oregonians,
I've had very good luck with Mark Chase at Chase Automotive in Clackamas, very knowledgeable, good guy, excellent customer service. He's also a Corvette guy himself.
Keep in touch.
Hockey Doc.

Hello "Shinobi"...

It would say with a fair amount of confidence that July/August is completely off base.

I'm sure you were kinda poking fun at the delay, but I didn't want that statement hanging out there and possibly misleading some people.

My best "guess" at this point is that some heads will ship out the door in the month of March, and a fair amount of these heads will end up in the hands of your tuners that reguraly post on this website. They will be sharing their own opinions about them with hopefully some dyno numbers to follow. It should only take another 30 days or so for us to be running full production 24/7 at the shop and really start shipping some serious quantity out the door.

One other thing....It's been my experience on the flowbench utilizing all the same equipment I flowtest the new AFR's on, that alot of the claimed "300+" CFM ported factory castings are really "300-"...... Based on the numbers I have seen (and the performance figures achieved with them), I'm still confident the high flowing more efficient ports of the AFR design will show us power and torque curves that will "step up the bar" so to speak.

I know, I know....all just speculation till we pull the handle on the dyno....Is it the end of February yet??....LOL

Hey Toni,
Tim ported my heads and if I remember right he either used to work with you guys or knows you guys. I am glad to hear that the August/July date is not true...I read that on another forum and thought since I seen you posting here I would throw it out there. Full production in 1 month 24/7 that sounds very promising. Do you think the 205 runners or the 225 runners would be better for a Turbo Charged application. I also would need the heads with the 76cc head volume...and am really interested in O Ringing the Heads and using a slightly thicker Cometic/Graphite Head Gaskets. My Deck Height is .014 out of the hole which means I can go with a slightly thicker head gasket and drop my CR even more without screwing up the quench area. So I am pretty interested in your heads with the 3/4" deck and new port. I can sell my Stage II heads easily outright as an Ls6 Stage II Blower Head with 72cc head volume. Please advise.
Thanks
Kevin
