Default Traction control questions

When I turn off the traction control not only does the lite on the dash indicate this but it displays it on the DIC as well. I wouldnt care so much about that except the message stays there until I turn it off. In the meantime I cant use any of the other features of the DIC until I do.. Is there a way to change this? Also if I turn off the traction control and park the car, when I start it up again it is turned back on. Is that a default setting in the computer? I suppose that all this could be changed with the computer edit program but is it worth the cost to do it or is there another way? :steering:

Press reset to clear the DIC and you can display anything you want.

As for the default TC on...there is someone who sells a module that basically sets it to off or comp mode whenever you start it, but I don't recall who sells it and don't have a link, maybe someone else will.

I asked the same questions before I guess that is why there are the old school gauges . I never did get a response maybe you will but that is normal.

Traction control is administered through the EBCM and not the PCM. Therefore you can not turn it off using LS1 edit. You can make some adjustments to the amount of retard applied and max torque under TCS using LS1 edit. Also can purchase a device made by LAPTRAX the tracactive controller and tracactive controller deluxe (about $200). The deluxe model will automatically turn off the TCS at start up as well as reset the DIC. Takes about 10 seconds after start up for it to run through the process.
Hope this helps. :steering:

Not sure about the Vette but in the Bird you could switch the wireson the button so that it turns it off at each start and you pucn the button to turn it back on.
